Peel 3 is capable of scanning black plastic parts; shiny black parts can be challenging, but nothing a bit of spray powder can’t fix.
Peel 3 can scan bare metal parts but might struggle with chrome at some point (like all scanners). A bit of spray powder will fix any issue.
Targets are more of a complement; the scanner can use geometry and texture for positioning. They are highly recommended for flatter or smoother surfaces as well as when accuracy is important
