Well, look what’s new with Peel.OS and Peel.CAD Pro 2.2 (2026-05-15)

Peel.OS

Tracking Enhancements

  • Geometry based positioning is smoother and more stable on complex curved surfaces.
  • Tracking errors are now handled more robustly, preventing geometry duplication on slippery surfaces.
  • When using geometry based positioning, frames are only accepted when they contain enough data for reliable positioning.
  • Semi-rigid positioning mode is more tolerant to slipping, supporting scanning on smoother surfaces.
  • Scan resuming is faster and requires less frequent use of Resume Scan.

Clipping Planes

  • Clicking four or more targets or vertices now creates walls that form an enclosed clipping region instead of a simple clipping plane.

Best-Fit with Targets

  • The best-fit now prioritises surface-associated targets, automatically ignoring targets without surface links. This removes the need for manual clean-up.

Peel.CAD Pro

Modeling

  • Added a Distance and Angle chamfer option, allowing users to create chamfers defined by a linear distance and an angle.
  • Added a flip normal icon that allows switching the draft direction inward or outward in Pick Vertex (CTRL) / Blind mode of the Extrude function.

Sketching

  • Added a Concentricity constraint creation method, which constrains two or more circular sketch primitives to share a common centre point, ensuring all selected primitives remain perfectly aligned around that centre.
  • Added a Point primitive for creating precise reference locations used to place or constrain sketch primitives.
  • Added a new Tangent Arc creation mode that creates arcs connecting to existing sketch primitives with an automatic tangent constraint, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Added the ability to copy and paste sketch primitives using common keyboard shortcuts; pasted elements appear slightly offset for easy identification.
  • Added a Creation mode section with three selectable rectangle modes. The previous existing mode is now named Diagonal rectangle, and two new modes—Center rectangle and Three corner rectangle—have been introduced.
  • If a sketch plane is within 10° of an origin axis, its horizontal and vertical directions are automatically aligned with the nearest axis to ensure consistent orientation.
